I never know what I am going to find in my back yard which backs up to Rock Creek Streamside Park. Today it was a fine looking eight-point buck deer in velvet. He was relaxing in the shade on the cool grass. He tolerated my approach long enough to get this image - when I took one step closer he was off over the fence and back into the wood.
That plot behind him was used in the past for a vegetable garden but now has some rose bushes and common milkweed for the butterflies - two things the deer won't eat. The stubble in the front of the garden is what is left of the purple cone flowers - the deer do eat those.
This is a digitally enhanced creation produced with Photoshop.

A fine shot that is remarkably up close. I like your special transformation in PS. Good result!
