We made our annual Spring trip to St. George Island in southern Maryland and found lots of Ospreys zooming around with sticks for nest or with large fish they had caught. This pair put on quite a show for us. They were practicing mating and this was just before the male landed on the female's back. This platform in at eye level out in the water and not too far from the road so lends itself to this kind of image. This image was enhanced using Photoshop.

Fantastic. Narragansett put up one of these stands and I saw an osprey carry a fish up to it yesterday afternoon.

I love ospreys! But they're difficult to photograph. I've missed great shots with fish dangling from their talons. These are amazing birds. Good shot!
