Quarry Falls

Quarry Falls

previous | home | next

These are the Quarry Falls that are also know as the Bust-Yer-Butt Falls, a name that I expect derives from what happens to many who try to shoot these with inner tubes. They are located along highway US64/NC28 about 7 miles west of Highlands, NC. This image was enhanced using Photoshop CS3.

Oh, that is quite frightening, looking down that passage. I'll just look, thank you! Beautiful nature.

Like the shadow fore-ground / bright rapid transition, Bud.

I really like the appeal of water breaking over the rocks. Very attractive image. The vernacular name is probably well deserved!
