I am trying a new Photoshop filter and chose this image from my archives to see if I liked the effect. It is a 'buzz' filter that produces a 'painterly ' look. I was pleased with the result - what do you think?
By the way, this is a wild wood duck and her little ones. It took many visits to the local gardens that I frequent to get her accustomed enough to my presence to allow this close an approach. That said, this female woody was probably born and raised in the gardens so although she is free to come and go (wild), she is somewhat less afraid of humans.I am thankful for that.I have spent many hours watching and photographing the little ones as they develop.

I'm envious that you got that close to the wood duck. There are wood ducks at the beaver pond near my house, but they take off as soon as I arrive. I have a few images, but none are really good.

This is one of your best! The composition is well balanced, and the colors are pure delight. The water even joined in with ripples of light. WOW! But best of all is the duck... just amazingly beautiful as she guards her babes.
