
Here is another go at highlighting a subject within this digital creation. This time I isolated the gull in the center and did not apply any treatment to it. The remainder of the image was given the poster edges treatment in Photoshop. I boosted the contrast on the grass stalks behind the gull to brighten them some.
My goal was to highlight the center gull in this group using these enhancements. I generally would discard an image like this since it is too busy and has too many out of focus birds in the scene. Did I manage to salvage it using these techniques?

Very nice! My eyes went directly to the gull in the center! He looks like he's "up" on one leg...I guess that means he's resting.

This is great, but I dont understand the oversharpening. I think you could relax the sharpness and still get a good result.
