
This is an image of the wings on the branches of a Winged Sweet Gum tree. The tree is located in the Camellia Garden of Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, MD. I liked the way the light way illuminating the folds of these unusual features of this tree's branches.
The terminal part of this branch resembles a human coccyx (tail bone).

I had never heard of that tree before. I checked it out and I recognized the seed pods. I have seen this tree but never knew it's name before.
