While visiting Huntley Meadows Park in Arlington, VA, to shoot on a record setting warm day I found this gull 'playing' with pieces of ice or was it just trying to stay cool?
I was shooting with Jim Poor who has posted another view of this gull with some ice. The gull seemed to be playing with the ice as it would toss the pieces of ice into the air and down into the water.

What a crisp and clear shot of that bird! Wow! I have never heard of birds playing with ice before...I wonder if there was something in the ice and he was trying to get at it....just a thought. It definitely is a "cool" capture :)
