I paid a visit to Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, MD and this is a scene I encountered. There was a thin layer of ice on the pond and the grasses have taken on their final colors for the year. It really is looking like Winter is approaching - can Spring really be that far away?

I like the detail in these bushy grasses. The contrast between the fall look in the grass and the greens behind is very interesting.
