Fine Old Farm House

Fine Old House

previous | home | next

I found this old house while on a visit to Seneca Rocks and Germany Valley in West Virginia. It turned out to be one of the best shots of that trip. This house was restored and is maintained by the National Park Service.

Location/Date: At the site of the old Visitors Center of the Spruce Knob - Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area, September, 24, 2002.

A wonderful old place with so much charm and elegance. I especially like the rough hewn fence in the foreground. Very attractive image.

Well done, Bud. The split rail fence really adds to the image. I've always liked this style of house.

Lovely image. That foreground fence works which goes to show you that rules of composition are really only very loose guidelines.

very nice. Good composition. The split rail fence in the foreground helps date the house and creates a sense of time and place.

I love how the house if framed by the split rail fence and the overhanging branches. Nice work.
