Sometimes it is possible to turn a photographic bobble into a usable image. Such is the case with this digital art creation that started out as an accident - I bumped the tripod during a long duration exposure. Photoshop came to the rescue by allowing me to produce this odd looking bird, a BOB, or Big Obvious Bird in the Bird Identification Simplified* classification system.
Location/Date: Garden of Lights Show in Brookside Gardens, Wheaton, MD, November 16, 2007.
[Nikon D200, Nikkor 24-120mm VR @ 112mm, 0.4s, f/5.6, iso 800, tripod (bumped)
*Bird Identification Simplified:
LBJs = little brown jobs - like a sparrow or wren
BOBs = big obvious birds - like an eagle or goose
TVs = turkey vultures - also black vultures and all other not-so-handsome BOBs

VERY NICE. It looks like "Birdzilla," towering above an army of regular birds.

An original! Thanks for the Bird Identification guide. The image really is attractive with the contrasting blue and gold.
