Root Cellar Door

previous | home | next

Door to a root cellar built into the hillside. Nearly everything is built into the hillside in this location!

Location/Date: Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, November 4, 2007.

I like the rough surfaced rock which makes a good setting for the weathered wood of the door. Fine image.

I know some people in Kentucky who use an old root cellar for storing home-canned vegetables because it is cool, even in the summer. This photo is beautiful.
