Fall Leaves and Seneca Sandstone

Leaves and Stone

previous | home | next

Here is a Fall scene taken near my home. The short tunnel is a railroad underpass built with Seneca Sandstone, the same type of stone used for the one of the Smithsonian Museums and the locks on the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal along the Potomac River. These stone are from quarries at Seneca, MD.

Location/Date: Beach Drive at Ken-Gar Park, North Bethesda, MD, November 1, 2006.
