Even though we live less than 15 miles from the U.S. Capitol building, white-tailed deer are frequent visitors to our backyard. They enjoy munching on anything that I plant including almost everything in our vegetable garden (a.k.a., the wildlife food plot ). This doe was especially comfortable in the yard - she even laid down for a rest. In this image she seemed curious but not frightened as I popped out around the corner of the outbuilding to photograph her. Since contracting Lyme Disease, I am less fond of having deer in the back yard than I used to be!

I see white-tail deer in my Georgia back yard also, but the yard is deep, and they stay at the edge of the woods... not close enough to get a sharp photo like yours. This is GREAT. The deer is beautiful, and so is your yard..

I'm jealous. I'd love to have deer come in that close. She is a handsome, healthy fat one, a real beauty. By the way, I just returned from the Sony Style store in Providence. Guess what I have in the bag.
