Nighty Night!

Nighty Night!

previous | home | next

I found this bumble bee tucked under the reproductive parts of this passion flower (Passiflora Incense) at dusk - it looked like a pretty cozy spot to spend the night. There are about 500 species of passion flowers - bumblebees are pollinators of these flowers.

Location/Date: Outside the Visitors Center in Brookside Gardens, Wheaton, MD, September 23, 2007.

Interesting flower. Nice capture with the bee too. But the flower...most unusual.
