Back Lit Grasses

Back Lit Grasses

previous | home | next

This image features another approach to photographing grasses. This time I shot back lit fox tail grass seed heads against a very dark background. This is the last of the grasses series for now.

Location/Date: Reflection Terrace, Brookside Gardens, Wheaton, MD, August 28, 2006.

[Nikon D100, Nikkor 24-120mm]

I love back lit grass. I really have to resist stopping to photograph it while bike riding. By definition scenes like this happen when the sun is low in the sky. If I stop I risk not getting home by dark.
