Here is another in my Brookside Gardens green heron fledgling series. In this shot, one of the green heron fledglings and a red-eared slider turtle are eying each other during an encounter on the sunning log. The turtles had this log pretty much to themselves before the arrival of these odd looking birds. I don't think they missed them when they flew off!

I enjoy the comical intensity of all the heron family. The little ones are precious with their unruly fuzz and 'serious' antics. The detail on this fledgling is excellent.
