
Another image of the green heron fledgelings of Brookside Gardens - this time two of the four that fledged in the summer of 2003. I believe these two are of different ages - the one on the left appears a bit more developed. It is also larger although that is not obvious in this image. The older two fledgelings liked to fly in and scare the younger two fledgelings, sometimes even making them fall off this log into the water. I think the fledgeling on the left is trying to intimidate the younger one on the right in this image. The exchange might have gone something like this. 'You know, I could peck you right on your fuzzy little head with my sharp beak and make you fall off the log into the water 'cause I'm bigger than you!'
