We decided to take a run up to High Rock since it was so clear yesterday. I was glad to see that the forest in this view was looking mostly healthy - a lot less sign of gypsy moth damage in this location than that show in a recent image of Catoctin Mountain posted by Donna Hughes.
We followed a vehicle up the mountain that had hang gliders mounted on top so we hoped to finally get to see someone launch off of High Rock. We were disappointed when the fellow who wanted to hang glide was told by his wife that she needed to get home to straighten up the house in preparation for a visit from friends!
I asked the fellow where the landing zone (LZ) was and he pointed out the narrow tree lined rectangular strip of pasture that is closest in this view from High Rock (from center to upper left). He said it was larger than it looked from this vantage point! Just thinking about jumping off this rock and trying to land in that strip of pasture, no matter what I was strapped to, made me weak kneed!

Any shots of the hang gliders? I'd consider that "wild life" and a worthy subject for a nature photographer...well maybe not. :-)
