This momma woody and her chicks called the Aquatic Pond in Brookside Gardens home in the summer of 2003. To my knowledge none of the chicks survived for more than a couple of weeks. I got to spend some time observing them at this close distance by moving very slowly and sitting down near this resting spot of theirs. I shall never forget those times with this handsome little family!
Tomorrow I will continue to feature the wood ducks of Brookside Gardens.
