I found that the goslings learn early how to display attitude - when they are threatened by adult geese in the Gardens they mimic their parents - lot of hissing and sticking out of tongues. In the top panel they are close to momma goose with the runt always behind the three larger siblings also being more demonstrative (top panel) and on their own in the bottom panel. Momma and poppa goose were always successful in protecting their offspring from the frequent feigned attacks of the other adult geese who share the Gardens. The top panel is a digital art creation produced in Photoshop.
Tomorrow we will see what these four goslings have grown to look like - be forewarned, they are not as cute as in the previous photos. For comparison there will be a shot of one of the goslings when younger - it is trying to get used to its big webbed feet.
