
Momma duck decided that things were just too crowded in the nest and jumped into the pool - the kids, of course, soon followed. That was the last time they would see the nest since there was no way for them to return to the nest which was about a foot above the water in the pool.
I want to take this opportunity to recognize the efforts of the staff of Brookside Gardens to assure that this family was protected during the incubation period and, especially, after the ducklings arrived. Thanks, Jim, Kathy, and Lisa, for all your efforts.
Tomorrow we will see what the garden's staff came up with to solve the problem of the ducklings not being able to return to their tulip pot nest.
